Have you ever watched a potter at the wheel? There’s a mesmerizing rhythm—the wheel spinning, hands steady, clay rising and falling. It’s easy to lose yourself in the movement, to feel as if time itself is circling around you.
For many ceramicists, the wheel is more than a tool; it’s a spiritual teacher. It reminds us that life is full of cycles—beginnings and endings, creation and collapse, joy and sorrow. The clay doesn’t always cooperate. Sometimes it wobbles, sometimes it collapses. But with patience and faith, something beautiful can emerge.

I’ve found that the wheel is a lot like the soul’s journey. We spin through seasons of change, sometimes feeling dizzy or off-balance. But if we trust the process, if we keep our hands (and hearts) steady, we can shape something meaningful.
Have you ever felt like your life was “spinning out of control”? What helped you find your center again? Maybe next time you’re feeling lost, you can imagine yourself at the wheel, letting faith and patience guide your hands.
