I used to visit with her at her “pickle factory” location and she was so very gracious. I often asked other potter friends, when you come to Chicago for a show do you visit with Ruth Duckworth. Many said they were afraid to take her time. Now they may wish they had, it was
    generously given.

I went to her retrospective show three times. Seeing her work went off inside of me like a bomb.
Her work is sublime. To me the quintessential post war modernist. Crazy brilliant.
I wish I’d met Ruth. This video helps so much.

  3. Wonderful video, I am always looking for inspiration and Ruth is definitely that.

I miss Ruth. Never met her but was inspired by her story and her work. Truly sad she’s not with us anymore.

Loved when she said, “If you’re still fearful when your in your 80’s, that’s bad luck.”

Dear Ruth, You are on my mind.. I asked You to come in my country a few time before You lived us in order to be in the jury of a big international competition who was organized in my country. We were exchanging with fax and You said to me ok ! I come if You accept that we go in the mountains together. I said YES…So, You came and stayed a week with my wife. At the time, walking was difficult for You and You were all the time holding my hand in order to move. Finally, after the openings days of the manifestation, we went to mountains and we were amazed to be with You walking on these forrest close to mountains. We speak a lot, What You Gave to me is maybe the most important life lesson that i received in my entire life. That’s why You are, Ruth, and You’ll be always living in my heart.
