It is wood…because you use force + gravity to get the clay pieces to take shape, I would think wood would be preferable. But I bet you could find a way to make a plaster mold work, if you’re careful.

I don’t, sorry. But if you are interested in a trip to the midwest, Randy always does a week long class in northwoods Wisconsin called Pigeon Lake (run through the University of Wisconsin, River Falls), and it is phenomenal. That is where I took these videos…Randy is so personable and accesible, and will show you and tell you anything about his techniques you can think of asking him. Also, you can go out drinking with him at night, which is pretty funny. Glad you like the video!
