Kensuke Yamada: Diving Through Clouds

Kensuke Yamada spent the month of May 2016 as Cheekwood's latest Martin Shallenberger Artist-in-Residence, creating the playful sculptures for his exhibition, Diving Through Clouds. This film documents the entire process of Kensuke's residency from creation of work to the final installation of the exhibition.

Day 3 Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)

5 Objects in 5 Days: We will discuss the history if Chinese Ceramics, illustrated by five representative objects from major periods in Chinese art history. Today was about the Ming Dynasty, a time of great affluence & relative political stability. Jingdezhen became the Chinese capital of porcelain production, which grew enormously.
