View our Spotlight Talk as we dish about the Esherick family portrait plates created by Esherick’s good friend, the artist Henry Varnum Poor! Poor was celebrated for his mural works and his paintings on ceramics; as a painter turned ceramicist — not unlike Esherick the painter turned woodworker — Poor and Esherick had a creative, generative friendship that we can see in the Studio today. In this focused, 20-minute program we'll highlight their connection through these portrait plates, which hang on the walls of the Studio dining room, drawing comparisons and insights into the daily life of the Esherick family.
