Absolutely exquisite! An object that reflects the history of Spain. Islamic history and heritage in Spain have a big scope and is deed rooted and this plate refers it masterful. Even the Spanish language to this day have a lot of words that comes straight from Arabic, specially words used for comfort objects like for example, almohada (pillow), alfombra (carpet), ect. Needs to be noted that “La expulsión de los Moros” (Muslims Expulsion) that happened in Spain before the Spanish conquest of America was a painful and dark historic moment by which Muslims where persecuted, tortured, expelled and “converted”. Spain lost a lot as a whole after the Muslim where expelled but as we can see it here, culture and history can’t be erased.

The Islamic plate at about 2:14 with the birds is my favorite piece shown in this.

It wasn’t just Muslims that were expelled, but Jews also. Both Portugal and Spain lost a lot when they carried out their religious fanaticism to its extreme.

You are fantastic as usual and, indeed, this ceramic reminds me of a golden plate, capable of reflecting the light in the gloomy and stinky medieval mansions, of course, there was no other utilitarian purpose for it.
